Robert Half Estate Planning Attorney in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description Our client is a non-profit organization in search of an Attorney with a strong background in Charitable Planning and Trusts & Estates to join their team in Grand Rapids, Michigan, This position offers the opportunity to work hybrid remotely and will require approximately 30-35% travel to meet with clients in Grand Rapids, and the surrounding area. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist clients in putting together Estate Planning and Gift Planning for the organization.

Responsibilities:

Meet with individuals to assist them in the development of charitable plans through their estates, business succession plans, or other wealth transfer events. Follow up with individual clients, their detail oriented advisors, or member charities as appropriate so that charitable plans are completed, reviewed, and updated as needed. Maintain regular contact with affiliated charities and other professionals including attorneys, accountants and financial planners to facilitate effective referral relationships. Speak at events, including board meetings, donor events, adult education classes and seminars. Requirements The qualifications of the successful candidate for this position include: A Juris Doctorate and a passion for helping others. Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Experience in the field of trusts and estates, taxation, closely-held businesses, and/or real estate law, as well as familiarity with the field of charitable planned giving is preferred. Excellent writing ability and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak in public. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with using Microsoft Office and CRM database programs. Willingness to travel for client meetings, seminars, and additional engagements both during the day and evenings. Approximately 30-35% of time may be spent in travel.
