Customs and Border Protection INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH SPECIALIST in Grand Forks, North Dakota

Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Grand Forks Sector, Sector Intelligence Unit (SIU), located in Grand Forks, ND. Responsibilities This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $134,435.00 (GS-13 Step 10). As an Intelligence Research Specialist, you will represent the collective intelligence capabilities and expertise across the agency that enable coordinated and consistent operations under a unified framework when addressing current and emerging border security issues and threats. Typical duties and responsibilities include: Providing the CBP Intelligence Enterprise (IE) and operation stakeholders with intelligence products that inform and enhance their ability to make strategic, operational or tactical decisions in support of CBP operations directed at threats to border security. Advising, administering, performing analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information and intelligence. Applying information and intelligence to border security operations in counter terrorism; counter narcotics; counter human smuggling or trafficking; counter proliferation; cyber or financial crime interdiction; trade enforcement; counterintelligence; or other emerging border security issues and threats. Enabling dynamic information sharing, using enterprise intelligence systems; strengthening partnerships with federal, state, local, territorial and tribal agencies in support of intelligence activities. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Researching, reviewing, and evaluating a high volume of classified, sensitive, open-sourced intelligence. Preparing incident and situation reports and conducting briefings. Preparing intelligence products based on analysis and evaluation of current intelligence information. Designing new or improving existing intelligence products. Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing stakeholders with products that enhance the ability to make strategic, operational and tactical decisions. Advising, administering, and performing analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information and intelligence. Ensuring all intelligence analysis processes and products align with legal authorities, policies, and guidelines. Developing and/or applying new or revised program methods, strategies, procedures and techniques to carry out intelligence activities.
