Continuing to invest in a sustainable future, Mölnlycke is now hiring aSenior Material Developer to join our Material and Technology Development team, situated at our global HQ in Gothenburg. The purpose of the position is to lead the development and implementation of new and/or improved materials for Mölnlycke Wound Care products in order to meet customer needs and/or to secure supply, compliance, and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Project

  • Drive and execute material development projects

  • Within the assigned material area; plan, develop, deliver and document material solutions in assigned role in early development projects and new product development project.

  • Identify the needs within the organization, lead cooperation between different parts of the organization and drives stakeholder management

  • Responsible for development of new materials and knowledge of materials

  • Propose new product ideas leveraging on new material opportunities

  • Secure supply for existing material by working with internal partners and suppliers within assigned material area

  • Suggesting continuous improvements such as processes, work instructions, and ways of working

  • Represent Mölnlycke Health Care and lead technical aspects during discussions and negotiations with appointed suppliers

  • Responsible to ensure material documentation within assigned material area is up to date and compliant

  • Coaching of material developers in the team

  • Coordinate/Lead material activities within the team

    What you’ll need

    Capabilities

  • Deep knowledge in the assigned material areas, such as silicone, non-woven materials, crosslinked and absorbent gelling polymers, plasticizer, and silver products

  • Experiences from development and testing of materials - such as but not limited to - biocompatibility and surface characterization

  • Technical understanding of Medical Devices R&D

  • Knowledge of Global Regulatory Requirements and standards

  • Understanding of customer and end user needs, including market insight

  • Understanding of QMS and Design control

  • Communication skills and stakeholder management

  • Fluent English written and spoken

  • Assigned business area knowledge and general business acumen

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry or life science or equivalent

  • Knowledge of materials such as silicone, absorbing fibers, non-woven materials, crosslinked and absorbent gelling polymers, plasticizer, and silver products

  • Experiences from development and testing of materials

  • Experience from product development/ R&D preferably from MedTech or other similar highly regulated industries, i.e., Hygienic, Pharma, Food industry etc.

  • Documentation skills

  • Experience from sustainability is a merit
