Job Title: Estimator/Proposal Engineer

Job Description

Company does custom assembly machine builder and robot integrator specializing in the integration of robotics and vision systems for small component assembly and test. Our main customers include major tier 1 companies. We design and build all our machines at our location in Genesee County

We are currently seeking an Estimator/Proposal Engineer to join our team. This position is crucial as it will help separate the estimating and selling roles currently managed by our sales team. The Estimator/Proposal Engineer will be responsible for quoting new projects and collaborating with various departments (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing) to prepare and send out these quotes.

Most of the quotes will range from $1M to $2M and will take a few weeks to complete. The projects will involve quoting custom equipment, including end-of-line test equipment, assembly equipment, torque & angle equipment, nutrunners, and others. The role requires meeting with engineering and manufacturing groups to understand the cost and timing involved in these projects. Most quotes will be prepared using Microsoft Excel, with embedded formulas.

Hard Skills

• 5 years of estimating/proposal experience

• 5 years of test equipment, assembly equipment, special machine experience

• 5 years of Excel experience

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

This is a fully on-site position in Genesee County.
