Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Goldsboro, NC

Job Summary:

Join an industry leader at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Goldsboro, NC, as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will be expected to initiate and evaluate comprehensive projects aimed at maximizing production efficiencies. Mastery of the total Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function, product, processes, and systems is required. You will need to demonstrate resourcefulness and considerable judgment to implement projects effectively. The role involves managing projects in both manufacturing and office environments to reduce costs, improve productivity, enhance work environments, and optimize systems and tools. You will initiate, research, formulate, and develop project plans while facilitating and directing cross-functional teams from conception through implementation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Change Agent: Lead project initiatives that improve overall company productivity and enhance Economic Value Added (EVA).

  • Strategic Support: Develop new methods, layouts, tooling, and systems that align with company strategic plans and goals to maximize EVA.

  • Enhance Practices: Improve and maintain shop manufacturing practices and procedures.

  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between shop manufacturing and other support groups to ensure product manufacturability.

  • ISO Compliance: Develop and maintain Manufacturing Procedures for ISO 9000 compliance.

  • Accurate Information: Provide detailed manufacturing procedures, processes, and tolerances to manufacturing personnel.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams for manufacturing projects, efficiently facilitating meetings.

  • Coaching and Consulting: Serve as a coach and consultant regarding project initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Project, Access, and Excel).

  • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational and planning skills to handle multiple projects concurrently.

  • Focus and Resourcefulness: Ability to stay focused and resourceful in obtaining necessary information for assigned projects.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities to present project information and advocate for changes or improvements.

  • Discretion: Good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with all levels of employees, maintaining fair and non-discriminating practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial technology/management.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
