Job Description Summary

As an Advanced Manufacturing Apprentice you will work within multiple engineering disciplines, putting propeller design ideas into manufacture. Your new skills will enable you to manufacture propellers for large aircraft, including the C130J Hercules. You will study full time for the first year at GET – Gloucestershire Engineering Training. Participants graduate with a Level 3 Certificate recognised by relevant Professional Engineering Institutions at the appropriate level of professional registration (EngTech).

Role Description

In addition to technical development, we are also committed to supporting your broader personal development. Throughout your time on the course, you will be given the opportunity to participate in projects and training outside of your apprenticeships with the aim of enhancing both your interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.

You will be supported by your line manager, plus placement managers, mentors, and the wider apprentice network, to ensure you are meeting the requirements of your course and getting the most out of your apprenticeship.

Overview of the scheme

Length of Program: 3 years plus End Point Assessment, up to 6 months completion of EPA.

The first year is full time at college with GET Engineering Training. In the second year you will be at college one day per week, with the remainder spent in the workplace. Third year is fulltime in the workplace, with time allocated for you to complete your EPA and any other required assignments.

As you progress through the years you will become a more integrated member of the team, taking on more responsibilities in your department and within the apprenticeship community.

Apprentices who have been through this program have successfully secured other roles, such as a Manufacturing Engineer.

Qualifications/Requirements

Essential

A successful candidate would have, or be expected to achieve by the start of the apprenticeship: 

  • achieved or predicted 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English and a Science.

Recruitment Process

As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to submit an initial CV application.
