Wolfram Research, Inc. Wolfram|Alpha DevOps Engineer in Remote,

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer to join its Wolfram|Alpha Web R&D group. The ideal candidate is someone with skills in software engineering who has extensive experience with the automation of application deployment and managing CI/CD cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining our CI/CD pipeline

  • Creating and deploying our services

  • Setting up and configuring monitoring solutions for system and application monitoring

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline automation

  • Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as EFK (Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana), Prometheus and Grafana

  • Strong scripting skills in Bash for automation and system administration tasks

  • Experience working with AWS or Azure cloud platforms

  • In-depth knowledge of Git methodologies and best practices

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, like Terraform or Ansible

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or a related technical or quantitative field

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) and/or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Location: Champaign, Illinois, or remote
