Our Engineering and Operations team work in collaboration to manage asset serviceability while also delivering incremental capability enhancements. The position is in the Toowoomba facility, with occasional travel to Springfield and Brisbane offices as required. To assist in both engineering and maintenance type activities, occasional deployment to remote operational locations may also be required.

The Senior Engineering Officer is required to provide both maintenance and engineering support to the program throughout the product lifecycle of various mobile radar systems. This role would be suitable for individuals with both practical and theoretical aptitudes.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Provide comprehensive technical support to maintain asset serviceability. This includes conducting Technical Information Reviews as well as Technical Planning and Investigation activities.

  • Provide technical guidance, resources, and training to the Equipment Operators.

  • Maintain engineering records within the sustainment domain to ensure compliance with sustainment engineering policy and procedure.

  • Assist in issue identification and detailed problem reporting.

  • Develop technical artefacts such as engineering change proposals, design records, requests for variances, modification instructions and various technical reports.

Eligible candidates will have the opportunity to be supported in gaining Engineers Australia Chartered credentials in either,

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng).

  • Chartered Associate (CEngA).

  • Chartered Technologist (CEngT).

The following educational qualifications are required when considering suitability for the role,

  • CERT IV, Diploma, Associate Engineering Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.

Experience in the following technical competencies would be viewed favourably,

  • Experience with engineering change management, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Authorised Maintenance Organisations (AMOs).

  • Experience with technical reporting, planning, problem dispositioning and implementation activities.

  • Experience and responsibility for making moderate improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of the work area.

The position will be suitable for individuals with an attention to detail, and an appreciation for both problem resolution and technical reporting. Experience with the following software packages would be advantageous,

  • Windchill PTC.

  • Enhanced Automated Graphical Logistics Environment (EAGLE).

  • Atlassian JIRA Project Management Software.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
