Job Summary

Maintenance Technician I is an intermediate level. The team member has increased responsibility for performing a range of maintenance, repair and service activities on equipment in a developing capacity. Under limited technical assistance from experienced-level technicians, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

This position will be working in the 3rd shift | Sunday - Thursday | 9: 30PM-6: 00AM

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates general understanding of industrial safety practices and regulations, including Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, fall protection, Personal protective equipment, and all other safety procedures related to the job

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and auxiliary equipment as needed.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operation and performs necessary troubleshooting to restore machine operation Escalate to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.

  • Understand and apply theory of operation of Machine and auxiliary equipment.

  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems as appropriate and maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.

  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.

  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned. Tasks include, but are not limited to, light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs and maintaining operation logs.

  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production. Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions. Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Mechanical/electrical trade background, Journeyman or equivalent technical school background desired

  • Relevant Work Experience

  • 2 years manufacturing or distribution experience; maintenance professional experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Certification / Licensure

Additional

  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment

  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel

  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of weight.

  • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings and the ability to generate rough sketches as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent preferred

  • Relevant Work Experience

  • Have a working knowledge of CMMS is a plus.

  • 3 years manufacturing or distribution experience; maintenance professional experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Certification / Licensure

  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification.

Additional

  • Computer Skills, demonstrate basic knowledge of the CMMS system, able to locate parts in inventory, identify work orders completed in a particular asset.

  • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings and the ability to generate rough sketches as needed.

  • Basic electrical knowledge, demonstrate ability to use electrical tools including electrical test meters.

  • Ability to operate machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses.

  • This job is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$26.00 - $37.75 Hourly

This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicants location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
