DAWSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE Maintenance Technician in GLENDIVE, Montana

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Knowledge of: cleaning procedures, equipment and chemicals General knowledge of grounds maintenance, building maintenance and use of tools Skills in cleaning and use of: cleaning equipment, mops, brushes and power equipment Skills in grounds and building maintenance and use of equipment commonly used in related maintenance Take pride in work Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work later hours following special events Ability to follow established safety procedures, communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors and the public Maintain a positive "can do" attitude Ability to obtain low-pressure boiler?s license, if requested DUTIES INCLUDE: Clean, vacuum and mop assigned floor areas daily to maintain cleanliness, sanitation and appearance Wash inside and outside of windows Clean washrooms, showers and drinking fountains to maintain a sanitary facility Remove trash daily in all areas and clean garbage cans as needed Clean housekeeping equipment, tools and carts, etc. Dust furniture, file cabinets, tables, dressers, etc. daily Wash walls, ceilings and furniture as scheduled or when needed Strip tile floor of wax, reseals and re-waxes annually Shampoo and repair carpets every quarter or when needed Assist in removing snow from steps and walkways and applies ice melt to ensure safety Assist in maintaining a well-groomed campus - water, mow, cuts weed, weed control, fertilize, prune plants/trees/shrubs/flowers as needed Assist in painting parking and crosswalks lines, as needed Replace and repair campus signage as needed Assist in operation and repair of underground sprinkler system as needed. Assist in general maintenance of campus Assist in maintenance of walking paths and fire pits Provide security when on duty and crowd control during College sponsored activities Routinely set up and tear down materials and equipment used during activities and events Complete security check of buildings and locks/unlocks outside entrances Unload, stock and transport freight within the facility Raise and lower flag daily Keep accurate records regarding repair and maintenance performed Attend meetings when requested Assist employees, students and community members with on demand requests Move and arrange College and student equipment, property and furniture Follow established fire and safety procedures Practice energy conservation Full-time position; may work after 4:00 p.m., shift, and evening schedules following campus events. $13.90 per hour and up, depending on experience.
