DAWSON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT Health Educator - Tobacco Prevention in GLENDIVE, Montana
ABOUT THE POSITION/DEPARTMENT:
The Health Educator-Tobacco Prevention is a position with the Dawson County Health Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree is preferred or an Associate's Degree with equivalent experience.
- Enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated individual.
- Strong communication, media, organizational, computer and program development skills are required.
- Must maintain a valid MT Driver's license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates tobacco prevention activities for Dawson, Prairie and Wibaux Counties.
- Builds community-level capacity for tobacco prevention work.
- Advises the Trading Card Kids program at DCHS.
- Coordination in preventing local youth from beginning a lifetime of addition to tobacco products.
- Eliminates exposure to the hazardous effects of secondhand smoke and actively supporting the Montana clean Indoor Air Act of 2005.
- Eliminates disparities related to tobacco use and its effect among certain population groups.
- May have to work after hours on occasion.
HOURS/DAYS: Position is full time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. May have to work after hours on occasion.
PAY/BENEFITS:$19.12 per hour plus County benefits.
