The Walt Disney Company Senior Manager, Quality Engineering in Glendale, California
The Senior Manager, Quality Engineering is a critical technology leadership role within Disney Experiences Technology & Digital.
The Senior Manager who joins our team will lead the Quality Engineering Transformation journey driving implementation for the teams’ transformation to drive adoption of AI into the user story and test creation pipeline, expand the use of existing Machine Learning capabilities, unify and align test automation practices across the org, and optimize the vendor strategy across multiple businesses and stakeholders. This role will be responsible for estimating, planning, and driving multiple large, parallel efforts working closely with multiple development teams across the organization. This role is equal parts strategic and tactical requiring constant project delivery while continually developing strategies to optimize and streamline the Quality Engineering practice.
This role provides Quality Engineering for over 250 key applications, including Theme Parks’ Ticketing for Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, tickets product authoring and pricing, yield management, and product recommendations. Testing includes websites, mobile apps, and ticket purchases at the US Parks.
What You Will Do
· Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineering Managers, Quality Engineers, and Quality Assurance Analysts to increase automation and leverage AI/ML tools.
· Develop Quality Engineering priorities and drive accountability for the performance and results using key quality engineering metrics. Partner with senior leaders and executives to create and maintain the Quality Engineering roadmap that allows for optimal maintenance of current portfolio and delivery of future capabilities, including shift-left and sprint optimization metrics.
· Collaborate with technical teams and businesses to ensure clear scope, timeline, risks, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
· Support a growth culture focused on continuous improvement and cost efficiency. Manage third-party suppliers to ensure they deliver on their commitments and meet or exceed the business objectives.
· Build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders, from end users to executives.
· Ensure proactive scheduling and communication of key deliverables, milestones, and tasks.
· Create and maintain project and departmental budgets, forecasts, resources plans and other expense plans.
· Communicate regular updates to project teams and executive leadership on delivery progress, test plan updates, test execution and defect metrics, budget spend and forecast.
Required Qualifications & Skills
· Minimum 10 years of related work experience in leading technology teams testing enterprise software solutions.
· Experience with implementing testing automation on large scale projects.
· Experience leading matrixed testing teams.
· Experience with Automation Frameworks and tools such as, Selenium, Node JS, Eggplant, Cucumber, SauceLabs, Jenkins, Harness, qTest, etc.
· Experience implementing testing strategies across complex commercial ecosystems.
· Experience implementing AI/ML initiatives across multiple platforms.
· Demonstrated proactive, clear, and solution-oriented approach when solving issues.
· Ability to drive automation to scale while ensuring quality, stability, and maintainability.
· Able to drive teams to meet deadlines and deliver under intense business environment.
· Experience with Security and Compliance
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent presentation and group dynamics skills
Required Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale California is $165,000-$195,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
