Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Grounds Maintenance Worker I . The Grounds Maintenance Worker I reports to the Recreation Coordinator II . The primary job duties of this position include:
Performs tree maintenance utilizing chainsaws, stump grinders, pole saws and chippers.
Performs turf maintenance cultural practices utilizing motorized equipment.
Manages vegetation through pruning, weeding, watering, planting and cultivation.
Performs general landscape and cleanup duties, including trash and debris removal, graffiti removal and litter pickup.
Performs tree maintenance utilizing chainsaws, stump grinders pole saws and chippers.
General Maintenance: Maintaining and repairing structures, facilities, and equipment within the Gilbert Riparian Preserve.

About You
At Team Gilbert, we hire outcome-oriented problem-solvers who love what they do! Qualified c andidates must possess the following requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
Six months previous experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor.
Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
Valid Arizona Driver License
Flexible availability
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Self-motivated and driven to maintain an exceptional facility
Skill in power tool operation including chainsaw, pole saw, stump grinder, auger, jackhammer, hedge trimmer, etc.
Desire to develop professionally in the field of arboriculture and urban forestry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Customer service skills and a positive attitude
Knowledge of native desert plants
