We Are Seeking

Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a Custodian who is innovative, driven, and passionate about serving the community.

This position cleans, cares and disinfects floors, work surfaces, windows, walls, restrooms and the exterior area of town facilities. Incumbents operate various equipment including floor cleaners, hand tools, ladders and general cleaning tools. They also provide customer service by making sure the needs of internal and external customers are met in a timely fashion .

We are looking to fill a 40 hour fully benefited position. This role is based out of the GIlbert Community Center. In addition, this position will be expected to work some holidays and/or fill in for staff shortages during the week.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).

• Six months of previous experience and/or training involving custodial work.

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

• Valid Arizona Driver's License.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation

About You

The Town of Gilbert Custodian cleans, cares for, and disinfects floors, work surfaces, windows, walls, restrooms, and the exterior area of town facilities. This position will operate various equipment including floor cleaners, hand tools, ladders, and general cleaning tools. They also provide customer service by making sure the needs of internal and external customers are met in a timely fashion.

The following knowledge and skills are needed for this position:

• Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Standards

• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations, and/or ordinances.

• Skill in general maintenance techniques, safe equipment practices and/or general cleaning practices, and cleaning and maintenance of facilities.

• Skill in customer service and working in a team environment.
