Robert Half Assistant Controller in Gilbert, Arizona

Description

We are seeking an Assistant Controller based in Gilbert. This role is vital to the finance department and will be responsible for overseeing all areas of general accounting, human resources, payroll, and financial/legal relationships. The successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, protect company assets, maintain adequate internal controls, and safeguard the financial condition of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all transactional and accounting activities, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), payroll, and HR to support accurate financial reporting.

• Manage timely collection of receivables and deposits.

• Ensure prompt payment of suppliers and vendors, capitalizing on all available discounts.

• Monitor daily banking activity, including payments via wire and ACH.

• Create and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to provide accurate reporting.

• Protect company assets, including cash, through robust controls and policies.

• Manage cash flow, savings, and debt payments.

• Develop annual budgets.

• Manage external relationships for tax prep, banking, lending, investing, legal, insurance, and benefits.

• Ensure adequate commercial insurance to cover risks to the company, employees, assets, and owners.

• Ensure all taxes are calculated, collected, and paid on time.

• Comply with all regulatory requirements for information gathering and reporting.

• Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

• Supervise, coach, counsel, and discipline employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results.

• Maintain company financial records.

• Maintain written SOPs and work instructions for critical processes.

Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role as an Assistant Controller or other relevant roles in finance

• Proficiency in using ERP Solutions for managing financial data

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions and principles

• Demonstrable experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with auditing procedures and compliance regulations

• Experience in budget processes, forecasting, and financial planning

• Proficiency in using Epicor software for financial management

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
