JOB SUMMARY :

The Classroom Coach will provide on-site support and coaching to classroom teachers, offering guidance for improvement and facilitating professional development workshops aligned with grant requirements. The role also involves one-on-one coaching sessions, teacher/child classroom observations, and providing constructive feedback to enhance teaching practices. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of training and implementation of assessment tools, preferably ASQ. The Classroom Coach communicates and collaborates closely with the School Director to implement effective instructional strategies and assist in the development and implantation of the ASCEND curriculum. Keeping abreast of the best practices in early childhood education such as developmentally appropriate practices (DAP), attending required training, and sharing resources with teachers are integral aspects of this role.

Company Overview

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  1. Provide on-site coaching and support to classroom teachers using ITERS and ECERS manuals. Support teachers in creating inclusive and engaging learning environments using ITERS and ECERS manuals. Support teachers in creating inclusive and engaging learning environments. Assess teachers classroom performance and provide ongoing guidance for improvement.

  2. Offer individual coaching sessions. Observe classroom activities and offer constructive feedback to improve teaching practices, emphasizing the value of empathetic communication to understand teachers' perspectives and experiences effectively.

  3. Train teachers in ASQ and establish a monitoring system. Work with teachers to create and apply successful teaching methods. Conduct mandatory employee training/workshops utilizing ePyrimid and IECMHC resources specified by the grant Aid in developing and executing the ASCEND curriculum grant.

  4. Stay informed about current best practices in early childhood education and share educational resources with teachers. Attend mandatory trainings as stipulated by the Fair Equity Grant.

  5. Support teachers in communicating effectively with parents about their child’s assessments. Collaborate with the School Director to organize and execute parent activities and events.

  6. Develop and manage take-home packets for children and parents.

  7. Fulfill the obligation to report suspected child abuse and neglect and assist others as mandated reports.

  8. Collaborate with staff, the director, and parents to cultivate relationships, provide guidance on managing child behavior, foster positive connections among early childhood providers, children, and families of diverse abilities, races/ethnicities, and language backgrounds, and establish and maintain community partnerships for additional family support.

  9. Recognize the significance of promoting self-regulation, social skills, communication abilities, representational thinking, and executive function skills to prepare children for school, while aligning with Cadence Education’s mission statement, policies, and procedures.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of child development theories and early childhood education principles.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and support to teachers.

  • Organizational skills to plan and coordinate coaching and training activities effectively.

  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.

    Education or equivalency:

    · Requires a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.

    · Master's degree preferred.

    Experience:

    · Requires at least five (5) years of working with children in a leadership role.

    Specialized training:

    · None.

    Certification/licensure:

    · ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) preferred.
