Avanade Inc. Internship Azure Platform | Infrastructure as Code Foundation in Ghent, Belgium

This internship is about developing our Infrastructure as Code Foundation in Azure through the power of Azure DevOps. It allows us to create fast and efficient deployments of Infrastructure in Azure that will be used on large scale projects. If you are interested in Microsoft Azure, DevOps and coding, then this is the ideal internship for you!

What you’ll do

Deployment of automated infrastructure starts in Azure DevOps where we will be setting up repositories and pipelines. After setting up the structure there, we can start developing the Infrastructure. We'll be developing several configs/templates to deploy our Infrastructure in a modular way so they can be implemented through the previously defined Pipelines according to the requirements. The trainee needs to take care of the Implementation, documentation and validation of the project and will create a basic Azure foundation platform as a result to demonstrate functionality. Expanding the foundation to a full environment deployment with the most common resources required by our customers.

For the Internship the following must be developed:

  • Foundation Landing Zone: Multi region Deployment for Azure Infrastructure, secure password generation and storing capabilities in the Azure Environment, Private Build Agents

  • RBAC & Governance: Creating of AAD Groups, RBAC assignment, PIM, Patch & Update management, Azure logging and monitor capabilities, Anti virus Solution / Vulnerability

  • Azure Devops: Creation of repos, branches, Setting up of service connections / service principals, Creation of Backlog item template

  • Nice to haves (depending on progress): Creation of schema files to validate input of parameters, Azure DevOps pipeline to validate parameters of resource pipelines, Azure DevOps test pipeline to test deployment of ARM Template, Script or solution to pull foundation code into a repo.

At the end of the internship, the candidate should have:

  • Proof-of-concept deployment pipelines and environment with Azure DevOps and the foundation components

  • Created a repository of deployment templates for most common cloud components

  • As-Built documentation on required architecture and guidelines on how the automated deployment works

  • Deliver a presentation and KT session towards the team

Skills and experiences

• You are interested in the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform;

• You already have some experience with Azure DevOps and programming;

• You have very good knowledge of English, next to your native language (Dutch/French);

• You are motivated to set up good research, you work proactively and independently, and you like to meet new people!

About you

• You are a student higher education who’s looking for an interesting and challenging internship in the field of IT-consultancy;

• Your internship is linked to your education;

• You are available for min. 3 months and min. 4 days/week;
