Citigroup VP FMIRM Risk Analyst (Hybrid) in Getzville, New York
- Financial Market Infrastructure Risk Management is a strategic business partner, working closely with the global management teams in Services, Markets, Banking, and Wealth. Working across Risk management teams in several sectors, analysts will add value to the company through research, analysis, problem solving, stress-testing, risk assessment, and development of solutions. Assignments focus on attaining core competencies in any of the following:
Responsibilities:
Manage a risk portfolio including key tools and techniques, such as variance analysis, stress-testing, and scenario analysis
Learn the risks and rewards of key financial instruments
Analyze customer exposures and understanding risks from current and new products
Building spreadsheets to calculate exposures or market sensitivities
Aggregate exposures data at required levels and summarize key insights to prepare for analysis and reporting
Utilize excel spreadsheet to organize data to allow dynamic exploration by various metrics, including tools and techniques, such as formulas and functions on mathematical operations, character-text functions, data and time, sumif-countif, and few lookup functions, pivot tables and graphs
Leveraging qualitative models and understanding their application in calculating components of risk
Understanding event risk and impact on capital markets and specific customers
Assessing situations that create risk and legal liability for the firm
Recognizing early warning signs associated with clients and probing beyond symptoms to
determine the underlying causes of problems
Analyzing processes & controls and managing data quality
Understanding risk policies and how they are applied to effectively manage risk
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular
consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by
driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying
sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and
escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Tableau skills are needed to create informative reports and data visualizations. Basic and comprehensive math skills are required to develop objectives using complied data. Ability to feed analytic data into charts, graphs and other type of visual reports for good information presentation.
Support transformational initiatives and emerging responsibilities for FMI Risk Management, including reassessments of existing Qualified Central Counterparty (QCCP) against Principle for FMI (PFMI) standards, Central Counterparty (CCP) concentration risk appetite framework, stress testing framework for CCP exposures.

Degree Majors- Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting
