QIAGEN LLC Team Leader Facilities Engineering Operations NA in Germantown, Maryland
Position Description
The Team Leader in Facilities Engineering would be responsible for managing facilities maintenance and equipment repair with the Facility team. The Team Leader will also be responsible for managing outside contractors and escorting them while on site. The incumbent should be skilled to perform a variety of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repair work. The position will have the responsibilities and duties listed below and will report directly to the Facilities Engineering Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure equipment Preventive Maintenance is scheduled with Facilities Engineering team, and outside contractors and is completed on time through BMRAM system
Ensure All required building and equipment Inspections are scheduled and complete on time
Perform inspection, adjustment, preventive maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers, and RO water system along with general facility repairs.
Assist in the performance of preventive maintenance activities, and the maintenance of related records and Work orders
Assists with the engineering and installation of new plant equipment required to efficiently operate the manufacturing facility
Conduct annual performance appraisals for employees in the Engineering Department who are direct reports.
Work effectively in team environment
Provide assistance and input for the preparation of the yearly Engineering and facility management budget. Identify Capital budget projects and costs.
Ensure Facilities staff is qualified and sufficiently trained to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner and observe all rules and regulations outlined in the QIAGEN employee handbook.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as required
Position Requirements
Minimum 10+ years of Facility Maintenance experience in a Manufacturing, Hospital, or Commercial fast paced setting
5+ years of Facilities Management experience
Licensed first Class Stationary Engineers
CPMM certified
Universal CFC certified
Knowledgeable in OSHA, NEC, and Life Safety codes.
Experienced in Building Automation systems (BMS) experience
Knowledgeable of Lean Methodology
Knowledgeable of GMP requirements
Personal Requirements

Strong communication skills
