Summary

The overall purpose of this position is to set-up, provide operating materials and operate the wrapping machines adjustments as needed ensuring the wrapping quality meets Perdue Standards. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 7:30 pm - 5:30 am.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Set up and maintain adequate supply of film for (2) wrapping machines lifting 40 lb rolls of film, from floor level to 4’ high to the machine film rack for each shift.

2. Operate the (2) wrapping machines making adjustments to tension as needed to ensure Perdue Packing Standards are met.

3. Transfer totes of work product weighing up to 30 lb from packers station to the rework table approximately 12 ft.

4. Assist lead person in daily dept. Set up including tray placers, recipe placers and shrink tunnel.

5. Set- Up Grasselli machines.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• External: 6-12 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

• Internal: 6-12 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment. Minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.

Experience Preferred

Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
