Finger Lakes Health Clinical Educator in Geneva, New York

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • In accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organization and in concert with the Director of Education/Dean of Colleges, the instructor serves as an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher, and a leader to our employees, physicians, and community in providing educational programs to all specialty areas as needed. Provide support and resource to hospital education programs and staff onboarding. Coordinate orientation/access/student experience for any nursing students on GGH campus. Support student education through clinical experience/classroom instruction.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:

  • Minimum:

  • Master of Science in Nursing Education or Bachelor degree and actively pursuing Master of Science in Nursing Education degree with completion within 4 years in the position.

  • Preferred:

  • Master of Science with a major in Nursing/Education or doctorate in education or nursing

  • LICENSE:

  • Minimum:

  • Current unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse licensure

  • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation

  • Preferred:

  • Certified Nurse Educator

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum:

  • 3 years clinical nursing experience

  • Preferred:

  • Prior teaching experience in nursing education med surg, critical care, and/or psch, maternity.

  • Staff development and hospital education.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum:

  • Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire into this position.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system.

  • Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets.

  • Preferred:

  • Previous experience with college of nursing accreditation (ACEN, CCNE).

  • Hospital staff education

  • Salary Range: $96,227.00 -$109,643.00
