Microsoft Corporation Product Quality and Reliability Engineer in Gelugor, Malaysia

Microsoft is leading the way into the growth of High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Recently Microsoft has announced Cobalt and Maia Custom Silicon for Azure Data Center and AI. Microsoft Silicon Engineering is pushing technology hard in all areas including advanced packaging technology. We are looking for Product Quality and Reliability (PQRE)Engineer that has strong technical experience in the area of HPC/AI/GPU/CPU’s End2End Quality Management System (QMS), Failure Analysis and RMA.

Responsibilities

The position will have responsibilities for Silicon Product Quality and Reliability Engineering for Microsoft’s Cobalt and Maia Silicon that is used for Azure Data Center and AI. The position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Define and build silicon/assembly/package qualification requirement and responsible for product qualification and technology certification.

  • This is based on physical understanding, model prediction and quality & reliability of advanced product, transistor, interconnect, assembly/package and wafer/package tests.

  • Drive product qualification and reliability (Q&R) validation, ongoing quality and reliability monitoring and build cost effective test/mfg screen solution to ensure stable process technology and product meets the committed Q&R specs and performance.

  • Q&R engineering of volume manufacturing which covers yield monitoring, DOE, analysis, risk assessment and disposition of any reliability read out issues.

  • Established QMS system which covers DPPM reporting, MRB process, and supplier audit.

  • Build feedback mechanism of unit level datacenter metrics to OSAT.

  • Build Generative AI engine to proactively identify risky material and apply mitigations.

  • Part of a larger team that correlates test solution to lab/OSAT/customer platform to validate silicon design, process, package, and manufacturability to product specifications,

  • Knowledge of platform, package, and silicon power management and thermal is a plus and the ability to connect the dots will help in addressing any product quality issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product and test engineering, specializing in ATE test program development

  • 5+ years of experience in developing integrated circuits (pre-silicon, first silicon bring-up, new product introduction).

  • 5+ years’ experience in large scale and/or high performance (i.e., AI, machine leaning, neural nets, CPU’s) and/or high power SoCs/chips on advanced process nodes.

  • Knowledge of system level tests and failure analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

  • Knowledgeable in DFT and DFM techniques.

  • Good understanding of bring-up/debug, characterization/manufacturing test (on ATEs).

  • Ability to drive development and bring up test content on mixed signal IP’s is a plus.

  • Strong technical/debug skills with Advantest V93K or any tester platform.

  • Strong probability and statistics background including DOE’s.

  • Experience in

  • Leading cross functional teams and understanding program/project management.

  • Managing supply chain, vendors / partners, and Integrated Circuit production.

  • Experience in system/customer requirements gathering and interfacing.

  • Device physics background.

  • Experience with failure analysis, qualification, and yield analysis

  • Trusted Computer architecture fundamentals/background

  • Great unit/integration testing skills

  • Solid coding experience using Phyton and/or Java (Smart Test 8)

  • Background in debugging and optimizing software
