Description

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all maintenance operations. This role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating all preventive and corrective maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Principal Duties

  • Develop and Manage Maintenance Plans:

  • Create detailed maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.

  • Develop preventive maintenance plans based on equipment manuals, historical data, and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Support the Maintenance Manager with the creation and administration of budgetary, asset intensity and compliance reports (forecasting PM’s for rebuilds)

  • Work Order Management:

  • Generate and prioritize work orders based on urgency and importance.

  • Track and follow up on the completion of work orders.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with maintenance technicians to understand equipment issues and maintenance needs.

  • Gain expert knowledge and train plant personnel to use the Centralized Maintenance Management System software.

  • Collaborate with production to schedule maintenance activities around production schedules and effectively communicate plans to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with parts room staff on PM’s and work order kits; serve as back up as needed.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance maintenance efficiency.

  • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.

    Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma minimum; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field a plus

  • 5 to 10 years of practical experience in the maintenance field, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a similar role.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.

  • Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).

  • Knowledge of maintenance best practices and industry standards.

  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
