Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Gardena, California
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Aerospace industry, based in Gardena, California. As a Sr. Accountant, your primary focus will be on year-end close processes, financial reporting, and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition. You will play a significant role in analysing financial data, preparing journal entries, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage year-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and compliance with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition requirements.
• Develop and analyze detailed Excel reports for margin analysis, data validation, and financial forecasts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and resolve discrepancies.
• Engage in financial planning and analysis (FP& A), including variance analysis and budgeting support.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Support audit preparations, including creating documentation and analyzing accounts as needed.
• Ensure the accuracy of manufacturing-specific financial statements and work towards improving reporting processes.
• Process and maintain customer credit applications and records accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account activity. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• At least five years of experience in accounting, preferably in the aerospace industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and journal entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with month end close processes
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software is preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
