Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Gardena, California

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the non-profit sector, located in Gardena, California. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be instrumental in maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. Your role will include working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining records of company's financial transactions

• Assisting with semi-monthly payroll processing

• Handling day-to-day accounts payable

• Preparing and recording monthly revenue journal entries

• Recording monthly GAAP related journal entries, including fixed assets, prepaids, deferred rent, and bad debt expense

• Conducting analytical assessments and preparing entries as needed for the general ledger

• Carrying out full cycle month-end closes

• Preparing reports for management, as well as for governmental and tax compliance

• Assisting with internal and external audits

• Carrying out bank account reconciliation

• Preparing monthly allocation and journal entries for contracted programs

• Conducting periodic audits of vendor invoices

• Assisting with monthly budget-to-actual analysis. Requirements • Applicant must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably in the non-profit sector, is a must.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Demonstrable knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.

• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work output.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

• Familiarity with accounting software will be an added advantage.

• High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.

• Must be committed to the values and mission of non-profit organizations.
