Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dietitian - Weight Management - NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Garden City. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing lifestyle health coaching and the educational content of the Weight Management Program. Provides weight loss and management guidance to patients enrolled using the Health Management Resources (HMR) behavioral program. Provides other dietary counseling for patients with Endocrine diseases.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Manages the weight loss program for diverse patient groups in all phases of the program including the At Home program. Prepares and delivers weekly behavioral groups to coach patients regarding lifestyle health changes using an empirical, data-driven approach. Teaches patients the supporting content of the HMR behavioral program. Performs other dietary counseling for patients with Endocrine diseases.
    • Maintains accurate individual and group summary data on all active patients. Coordinates, analyzes, and validates data from all information collected and ensures confidentiality.
    • Follows up with current patients weekly through telephone calls along with periodic individual and group meetings. Answers Weight Management phone lines and monitors mailbox to support the functions of the program.
    • Presents program orientations to give an overview of the HMR program for prospective new patients.
    • Participates in marketing efforts. Makes presentations of the program to the community.
    • Communicates regularly with the staff to promote a more consistent, integrated and effective program. Attends staff meetings to discuss administrative and patient care issues. Compiles a patient agenda for discussion.
    • Attends HMR trainings to stay current with the latest treatment methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Health Education, Nutrition or related field. 0 - 2 years of experience in Health care field, education, program development, or health promotion. Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).. Required Licenses: Registered Dietitian

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition. NYS Licensed Dietitian.
3 - 5 years of experience In a Weight Loss clinic environment.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $75,569.52 - $95,361.63 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
