ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A former NCI-designated oncology center, UTMB Galveston is emerging from a clinical collaboration agreement and the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology is in a rebuilding mode. Over the next two to three years, the new Chief of Medical Oncology and Hematology (CMOH) will firmly establish a successful and innovative enterprise that merits the NCI designation by recruiting oncologists and structuring services to be productive, efficient, technology-enhanced, and delivering the highest-quality patient care. The reconstituted Medical Oncology Division is a key strategic initiative and priority for UTMB.

With an enviable record of achievement, the CMOH will be a highly respected leader and innovator who understands the issues and opportunities in today’s academic healthcare environment, including the productive integration of clinical, education, and research initiatives. An entrepreneurial builder by nature and a strategic problem solver, you define issues, lay out options, and deliver results on-time and on-budget. A team-builder and leader, you will attract and recruit exceptional talent to work together constructively to provide the highest-quality patient care and clinical efficiency to an established and growing roster of patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be a leader who is board-certified in medical oncology, with deep understanding of the nature and administration of a complex, multi-venue hospital/medical school.
