Coburn's Exclusive Fabricated Metal Installer in Gallatin, Tennessee

POSITION:  Installer

REPORTS TO:  Lead Installer         

LOCATION: Gallatin, TN

RESPONSIBLE FOR:  

  • Act as the primary installer of all Coburn’s Exclusive fabricated products, included but not limited to, steel doors and windows, monumental stair cases, guardrail and grab rail, and many other various types of architectural metal work.

  • Working independently or as part of a team in an effective manner. 

  • A willingness to learn and self motivation is a necessity for this position

  • Ideal candidates should have a working knowledge of common installation tools, screw guns, drills, hammer drills, tape measures, and various laser leveling and layout tools.

  • This position will from time to time require more than 40 hours per week and OT is expected when the job site dictates. 

  • Able to read and understand technical fabrication and or installation drawings 

  • Most work will happen on jobsites.  Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is a must.

  • From time to time driving a company truck and trailer or the company 24’ box truck will be needed. Experience in driving these kinds of vehicles is a plus but not required. 

  • While not on jobsites, the installer will aid the shop in attaining production goals.  This includes various shop duties including but not limited to welding and fabrication, finishing, shipment preparation, deliveries, etc.  

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES:

    These functions are performed on a regular basis unless otherwise specified.

  • Ability to sit, stand, grasp, type, stoop, reach, walk, push, and pull for sustained periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Ability to read, calculate, measure, plan, and compile information.

  • Ability to investigate, organize, explain, and present information.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in English on a daily basis.

  • Ability to make rational decisions.

  • Ability to accept direction and orders from supervisor and others in authority.

  • Ability and willingness to accept and follow through on recommendations for improvement as a result of performance appraisal, monitoring, self-assessment, and daily supervision.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RELATED TO WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis to, but not limited to, local, state, and national destinations. Travel methods may include personal or company vehicle, box -truck, airplane, or train.

  • Ability to use your own vehicle for work related activities when company vehicles are not available.

  • Ability to work and drive during periods of inclement weather.

  • Ability to effectively interact and work cooperatively as a team member with people from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Ability to work in a variety of environments including, but not limited to, workshops, offices, warehouses, storage units, box trucks and public places.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.  

    Pay close attention to detail and quality standards.

    Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.

    Contribute to our drug-free workplace.

    Any other duties as may be assigned.
