Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 for Asbury Methodist Village located in Gaithersburg, Maryland - the 10th largest CCRC in the country. This Food Operations Manager will oversee the food service operations for the Wilson Health Care Center serving 140 residents, and Kindley Assisted Living with a retail cafe serving 135 residents. Will report to the General Manager and manage a staff of approximately 65 hourly employees. The typical shift will be 8:00 - 5:00 pm daily, which may vary with every 3rd weekend coverage.

Are you the experienced dynamic food service manager we’re seeking?

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations (dining room service and retail cafe);

  • implement Sodexo systems and programs, and oversee training of staff;

  • continuously evaluates service to ensure patient and client satisfaction;

  • drive employee engagement and patient satisfaction through strong leadership skills;

  • integrate fully within our client's organization and be a trusted advisor with a customer service focus;

  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;

  • develop and maintain strong client and customer relationships;

  • develop strategic plans;

  • create a positive environment; and

  • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3 or more years of previous food service management experience ideally in healthcare or retirement community;

  • strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate staff;

  • a dietary manager certification (CDM) or be willing to obtain within 9 months of hire;

  • a work history demonstrating strong leadership and hospitality skills and the ability to work collaboratively;

  • the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;

  • knowledge of compliance with food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards;

  • the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and

  • strong computer skills and report management experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
