Job Description

Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)

Objective:

Drive activities required to meet cost, quality, inventory, delivery and cycle time objectives throughout the supply chain value stream. Measure suppliers, collaborate to develop process and product improvement plans, and enforce action measures as necessary to achieve business objectives. Works under regular supervision on moderately complex tasks.

Authorities:

This position has the power and control to carry out supplier quality assurance engineer responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable regulations.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Main Function Responsibilities

• Support the supplier assessment and selection process by conducting audits/assessments and ensuring the implementation of applicable requirements

• Ensure that suppliers apply Safran requirements, such as APQP, PPAP, FMECA and risk analysis

• Ensure that products and services comply with quality requirements by planning and conducting monitoring actions from suppliers per the established auditing schedules

• Ensure proper management of non-compliances through trend analysis of supplier defects and taking appropriate action to drive resolution using the quality tools in ETQ

• Ensure supplier improvement by measuring supplier performance against the Safran established KPI thresholds

• Provide Purchasing with information to pass on poor-quality costs to suppliers

• Ensure that performance improvement plans are implemented by suppliers and monitor the progression.

• Promote the use of Safran tools and methods by supplier

• Promote quality culture

• Act as a quality correspondent for production transfers between suppliers and from Safran to a supplier and implement quality actions to ensure that customer and Safran requirements are met.

Job Requirements

1. Qualification Requirements

A. Education & Qualification Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing engineering, Industrial engineering or related technical field or 12 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge

• Additionally, two (2) years of related experience in a quality role.

• Knowledge of the Plan for Every Part process

• Working knowledge of FAA regulations pertaining to supplier OEM process and products

• Experience in implementation of continuous improvement systems and RCCA

• Must be able to read and interpret average to moderately complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders and procedure manuals.

• Knowledge of AS9100 requirements

C. Professional Skills

• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

• Ability to solve moderately complex problems and think strategically

• Perform work under direct supervision. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

• Must be able to work cross functionally

E. Desirable Aspects

2. General Work Conditions (Physical Demands)

Physical Demands

• This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer, copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.

• The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noise
