LifeSouth Community Blood Centers Records Specialist Team Leader in Gainesville, Florida

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for a patient and consistent individual for aRecords Specialist Team Leaderposition inGainesville, FL. This position is responsible for coordinating team members and assisting with daily tasks to ensure quality documentation in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for training, records management, writing and validating SOPs and weekly plan assignments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Maintain files and create various reports using Microsoft Office

  • Enter pertinent information into the records management system

  • Analyze company programs and systems to generate reports for corrections and follow up

  • Audit records in accordance with company policies and FDA guidelines

  • Perform Standard Donor Record (SDR) review and ensure a timely review

  • Perform all job functions and maintain permanent records in accordance with blood centers Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Generate reports for tracking of errors for executive staff/management

  • Perform data corrections for Technical Assistance Requests

  • Operate document scanner and computer software

  • Prepare and manage confidential records

  • Shred physical documents

  • Ensure workflow and production is at an ideal level; report problems to Records Management Supervisor as needed

  • Actively encourage team to work together to complete daily assignments; monitor team progress

  • Prepare, review, and/or maintain records and reports as directed and in accordance with established departmental procedures

  • Monitor and respond to events, including error resolution, form initiation and regional records issues

  • Obtain all required specialized skills

  • Must have consistent and reliable transportation

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements-

  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); position will be required to learn blood bank specific software, such as IBBIS, etc.

  • Must understand the blood donation process

  • Knowledge of FDA and AABB regulations/standards related to the donor collection process

  • Must have excellent team work and team lead skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers and the public

  • Ability to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions

  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively
