Job Description:
Maintain, repair, replace, and install plumbing components including pipe, fittings, valves, appliances, fixtures, and associated hardware
Remove blockages in building drains using both electric and manual equipment.
Maintain, repair, replace, and install drainage systems in compliance with the current Florida Building Code
Maintain, repair, replace, and install domestic water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and storm water systems in compliance with the current edition of the Florida Building Code
Assist with general maintenance repairs and perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed
Perform fixture repair and replacement, stove burner/switch repairs, window/blind repairs, door/lock repair, painting, pressure washing, roof/gutters cleaning, and ceiling tile replacement.
Perform general construction tasks such as: remove/install floor and wall tile, repair grout; remove, replace, and/or repair doors and hardware; remove, replace, and/or repair cabinetry; remove, replace, and/or repair windows, window screens, glass, and window blinds; remove, replace, and/or repair gypsum based wall board and finishes; remove, replace, and/or repair ceiling tile and grid; removal and installation of floor covering and finishes: stretch in carpet, glue down carpet, LVT (luxury vinyl tile), VCT (vinyl composite tile, and hard tile (ceramic and porcelain); Demolition of walls, ceilings, gypsum materials, floor finishes, etc. as directed
Operate, maintain, repair tools such as pipe cutter, reamer, threader, torch, sewer snake, chipping/rotary hammer, closet auger, drill, sawzall, skill saw, and multi meter
Responsible for general administrative functions
Input and process work order requests utilizing web-based work order management system.
Record detailed descriptions of work performed and notate preventative maintenance information
Assist in maintaining inventory of materials, supplies, tools and/or equipment throughout area of responsibility; ensure organized workstations and storage closets with necessary materials as directed
- Perform general cleaning duties after the completion of maintenance tasks within buildings or properties.
Perform other duties as assigned, including special tasks or projects
- Operates state vehicles
Expected Salary:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in plumbing; or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience; appropriate vocational/ technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Eight years of experience
Working knowledge of the Florida Plumbing Code
SKILLS:
Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications (e.g. work order management systems, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with various levels of staff
Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and timeliness
Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously

Special Instructions to Applicants:
Ability to obtain within first year of employment, and maintain throughout employment, backflow prevention testing certification
