The University of Florida, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology is seeking a faculty member to join an active and collegial group to serve as a faculty member. The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology consists of 6 pediatric gastroenterologists, 3 GI fellows, 2 dieticians and dedicated GI nursing and administrative support. The division provides inpatient services at Shands Children’s Hospital, ranked #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2022-2023 USNWR. Our nearly 8,000 annual outpatient clinics are rapidly growing and include specialty clinics such as liver transplant, eosinophilic esophagitis, cystic fibrosis, intestinal rehabilitation, and inflammatory bowel disease as part of Improve Care Now. These multidisciplinary clinics represent a strong and long-lasting collaboration with partners in pediatric surgery, pulmonary, OT, child psychology, and allergy. The division has the distinction as a leader in providing outreach clinic services as well as telehealth services throughout the state of Florida. Additionally, UF Health Pediatrics has a history of educational excellence and promoting research interests. The faculty member will be a contributor to an environment that advances the strong clinical, research, and educational missions of UF Health.

This is a non-tenure accruing position. Rank will be assigned based on qualifications and experience.

The children’s hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development, educating and training pediatric scientists, and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patient-oriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year, the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.

UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes, including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute, the UF Genetics Institute, the Powell Gene Therapy Center, and the UF Health Cancer Center.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have an M.D degree or equivalent and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida, and be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
