**Purpose The NewboRN Home Visiting Program (NHVP) is a universal home visiting program that is free and offered to all Alachua County women who give birth at a hospital, birth center or home within the county. Within a week after baby is born, a registered nurse will visit the family at home to see how they are doing, share information and connect to services and resources. The nurse home visitor is responsible for conducting home visits and assessments on program participants.

  • Conduct health assessments and provide education to participants during home visits.
  • Timely and accurately input client data into the Well Family System.

``` - Follows up with participants' health care provider (i.e. obstetrician, pediatrician) as necessary. - Communicates family's needs with the NHVP family partner.

``` - Attends and actively participates in organizational, departmental, program, and Children's Trust of Alachua County meetings.

Qualifications for NHVP Nurse Home Visitor

  • Current RN license (in good standing).
  • Experience in maternal/child health nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or closely related field preferred.
  • CLC or IBCLC preferred.
