Job Description:

The School of Music (SOM) in the College of the Arts seeks a UF Student with a Federal Work Study Award to assist with clerical and administrative tasks in the Undergraduate Student Services. The successful candidate will have experience working in customer service, the ability to work autonomously, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet all visitors to the SOM Undergraduate Student Services, directing or aiding guests as needed.

  • Performing data entry, scanning, quality check, filing, and copying of documents

  • Reply to and direct calls and emails, addressing inquiries and messages appropriately and accurately

  • Assist with recruitment activities, such as giving School of Music tours ,assembling and mailing packets

  • Assisting with other duties as as assigned

Expected Salary:

$13/Hour

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have Federal Work Study award

  • Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring to the position:

  • Experience in providing customer service and effective communication

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint

  • Evidence of attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision

  • Freshman and Sophomores preferred; Juniors encouraged to apply

  • Evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances pluralism, curiosity, viewpoint diversity, open discourse, and the well-being of all.
