Job Description:

Leadership and Human Resources Management:

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Associate Director provides strategic leadership and troubleshooting for TAPS, focusing particularly on maintenance and parking enforcement. This position requires strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of HR policies to address various personnel issues effectively.

Maintenance and Infrastructure Management:

Directly supervises the Maintenance Department and oversees significant infrastructure projects. This includes efficient management of maintenance and restoration activities in parking garages and lots, both daytime and overnight crews, ensuring projects like repaving and construction are minimally disruptive and completed on time and within budget.

Parking Enforcement Supervision:

Provides comprehensive oversight of the Parking Enforcement Division, managing operations and event management that operate continuously. Responsibilities extend to staffing—including hiring, training, and scheduling—covering all necessary hours, including potential nights and weekends.

Policy Development and System Implementation:

Assists the Senior Director in creating and administering regulations and policies that govern parking and transportation. This role is crucial in developing and launching new systems to enhance the department's operational efficiency.

Financial Stewardship:

Manages fiscal responsibilities, including ensuring proper separation of duties and generating detailed financial, operational, and exception reports. This role also encompasses routine fiscal and administrative tasks, such as handling purchase orders and managing time and leave approvals.

Committee Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Actively engages with various committees and groups, including the UF Health Parking Committee, the University Parking and Transportation Advisory Committee, and the Metropolitan Transportation and Planning Technical Advisory Committee, along with the University Housing Division and Student Government. This involvement is crucial for aligning parking and transportation services with broader stakeholder needs.

Additional Responsibilities:

Takes on additional tasks as required, ensuring adaptability and responsiveness to emerging or unplanned situations. Acts as the “On-Call” manager for 24 hour scenarios as needed.

A criminal background will be conducted.

Normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary $90,000 - $110,000 yearly based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates should have extensive experience in transportation and parking management, particularly at large-scale locations that handle event parking, credentialed parking, and parking enforcement. Proficiency with Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems (PARCS) and virtual permitting is essential. Strength in scheduling in an efficient manner to ensure proper coverage while limiting overtime is crucial.

Designations as a Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) or Certified Parking Professional (CPP) are strongly preferred.
