Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking to fill a Lead position in the Fullerton, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of a department supervisor, assists in giving work assignments and direction to other workers to ensure attainment of the production and quality objectives.
Responsible for daily work order scheduling in department(s) to which assigned
Updates daily management board
Determines from blueprints, the work order tooling requirements and availability
Orders minor adaptations of existing tools and fixtures required for current operations
Ensures first articles are filled out correctly
Determines other material requirements and availability for the areas assigned
Ensures proper material has been provided for each work order
Performs layouts and/or set-ups when machines are in the department
Acts as a liaison between the employee and supervisor
Assists supervisor in the training of new employees
Informs supervisor of significant issues in the department
Recommends to supervisor possible changes that would solve department work problems, or substantially reduce costs
Recommends repair, maintenance, or replacement of equipment
Gives feedback in order for the supervisor to prepare performance reviews
Informs supervisor of personnel problems
Prepares reports or other paperwork as needed
Is “alert” to unsafe working conditions and initiates immediate action for their correction
Reports all accidents immediately
Helps instruct and enforces S.P.C. charting as required
Ensures work areas are kept clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis
Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Benefits/Salary:
The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $ 22/hr - $31/hr
