Trinity Health Pathologist Assistant (Per Diem) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Per Diem

Position Purpose: S upporting our pathologists in diagnosing diseases and conditions. You will be responsible for various laboratory and clinical tasks, including specimen handling, processing, and gross description.

What you will do:

*Conduct gross examinations and complex dissections of tissue samples, documenting relevant characteristics through dictation using Dragon/EPIC.

*Assist pathologists in preparing tissue slides for microscopic examination.

*Maintain accurate records of specimen information, test results, and patient data.

*Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen processing.

*Contribute to quality control and quality assurance activities in the laboratory.

*Stay updated with advancements in the field of pathology through ongoing education.

Education & Qualifications

*Experience in the field with appropriate educational background (Master's degree in Pathology or a related field preferred).

*Certification as a Pathology Assistant (PA) or eligibility for certification preferred.

*Strong knowledge of anatomy, histology, and pathology principles.

*Proficiency in anatomic laboratory techniques, including frozen section and permanent specimen preparation.

*Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

*Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

*Commitment to laboratory safety protocols and ethical standards.

*Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
