Description:

Collaborates with the management team on 4West and IRU to integrate evidence based practice at the bedside with RN's. Teach the RN's communication and customer service skills, assess their clinical skills and educate as needed. Be a mentor and help coach them during concerns and offer career development.

Integrates knowledge of differential illness diagnoses and treatment in

comprehensive, holistic assessments of patients within the context of disease,

diagnosis, and treatment of explicate etiologies that require nursing interventions

Designs, implements and evaluates innovative programs for care to achieve desired quality, cost effective nurse sensitive outcomes.

Integrates unique patient needs into the development and implementation of best practice interventions to prevent unintended consequences and enhance intended care outcomes.

Serves as leader, consultant, mentor, change agent in advancing the practice of nursing among nurses and across the organization to achieve targeted outcomes.

Advances nursing practice through innovative evidence-based interventions, best practice guidelines and modifications of professional standards and organizational policies that direct the care of nursing personnel and other providers of healthcare to improve patient outcomes.

Leads advancement and change in the nursing clinical practice units via collaboration with nurse managers, administrators, educators, researchers, physicians and multidisciplinary team.

Expands the practice of nursing through ongoing generation and acquisition of

scientific knowledge and skills to maintain expert clinical competencies that lead to desired outcomes.

Interprets the dimensions of nursing care requiring resources at the system level, and provide leadership to assure that the system adequately supports the delivery of nursing care.

Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and organizational

systems through criteria development, data collection, analysis, action planning, implementation, and re-evaluation.

Acquires, maintains, and expands current knowledge and competency in the three spheres of influence.

Education & Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Nursing. Should an individual meet the Florida requirements of CNS or ARNP, he/she may use that title.

  • If the RN has greater than 20years of experience and does not have an MSN, it must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire into the position.

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience required.

  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge in a specialty area. If assigned during employment an area of substantially different clinical knowledge set, the candidate/associate will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise in the practice area within 1 year.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to problem resolution.

Licensure:

  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse, CNS or ARNP in the State of Florida.

  • Qualifications as per clinical area of specialty (e.g. BCLS, ACLS if required by area of specialty) etc.
