Armed Services YMCA of The U S A Program Manager in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky

This is a full-time benefits eligible position.  Hourly rate ($16.83 - 17.79) commensurate with experience.

This position supports the vital work of the ASYMCA, a nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility by overseeing the development and operations of ASYMCA core programs, such as, Operation Little Learner’s, Operation Hero, Child Watch and Children’s Waiting Room.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program growth for the ASYMCA.

  • Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the ASYMCA.

  • Heavily engages in the identification of new hires and volunteers in assigned areas.

  • Actively participates in the direct supervision of program staff.

  • Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

  • Provides leadership and support to volunteer committees/boards as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.

  • Collaborates in the development of and implements new Fee for Service Programs/Classes to serve each age group

  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.

  • Ensures high quality member-focused programs are delivered through support of innovative program development, evaluations and on-going training of staff.

  • Supports the coordination and execution of special events and activities.

  • Assists in special event coordination including fundraising and military support and functions.

  • Participates in the Financial Development activities of the branch.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent AND four or more years of program management experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prior program management experience in a nonprofit agency preferred.

  • 7 years management experience preferred.

  • Prior experience in executing children’s programs

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, required.

  • Previous experience in working effectively with diverse populations.

  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

    Post Hire Requirements:

    • Proof of a TB clearance/test within the past 12 months. If test is positive, documentation of treatment plan is required

    • First Aid and CPR training completed within 90 days of hire date, and annually thereafter

    • Completion of required on-line training courses within 30 days of hire date

    • Annual Flu Shot documentation

    • Annual Medical certification from Primary Care Physician

    • May occasionally be expected to work at special events outside normal working hours, including some weekends, and/or evenings

    • Must successfully complete and obtain an ASYMCA and DOD background check

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise                                   program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs) perform the essential functions. 

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a child care environment, but is based in an office.  The position will interact with children in early learning classrooms daily.
