Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care as a licensed therapist following the rules and regulations of the State of Texas (Patient care responsibilities dependent on staffing capacity)

  • Plans and coordinates patient access in designated service areas

  • Manages workforce in designated service areas

  • Manages the work and patient care environment as well as programming in designated service areas

  • Implements standard operating procedures and policies in designated service areas

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements in designated service areas

  • Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency in designated service areas

  • Manages expenses, monitors, and participates in generating budget in designated service areas

  • Implements strategic plan and represents designated service areas in the strategic planning process

  • Maintains a safe and positive patient experience in designated service areas

  • Leads operational meetings in designated service areas

  • Collaborates with student coordinators to place students

  • Identifies and participates in research and quality improvement initiatives in designated service areas

    Required Skills/Abilities

  • Graduate of an accredited school of physical or occupational therapy or related field

  • Current Texas physical therapist or occupational therapist license or credentialing in a related field

  • Current BLS certification

  • 5 years of varied and progressive therapy experience, including management experience with an increasing level of administrative responsibility and authority preferred

  • Evidence of clinical specialization in orthopedics, pediatrics, sports medicine or a related field is preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to determine the appropriate course of action in complex situations

  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and be attentive to detail

  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving, patients, staff, physicians, and others in a professional and collaborative manner

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
