Robert Half Staff Accountant/ Payroll Specialist in Fremont, California
Description
Robert Half is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Accountant position, which will become a critical part of an innovative company. This is a job where someone driven by a challenging work environment with many components can thrive. In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Duties and responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll using ADP
Perform manual calculations for payroll exceptions
Calculate sales commissions and bonuses
Audit work logs and activity reports for PTO adjustments
Contact ADP and state governments to resolve filing issues
Handle 401k, worker compensation audits
Interpret and process wage garnishments
Assist Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Assist with other accounting department functions as needed and capable
Assist with a variety of research and account analysis projects
Requirements
Position Requirements:
ADP experience required
Multistate experience required
Must have experience resolving ADP and state filing hiccups
CPA and/or Payroll Certifications a plus
4 - 6 years accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Good Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise
Good Proficiency with MS Excel
Must possess attention to detail
Must be ready to learn our industry
Must have effective interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and proactively
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
Must have a clean background and be drug free
