Job Profile Title: Quality technician III – CMM Programmer

Location/Division Specific Information –Fremont, CA (M – F 6am PDT – 2:30 PDT)

How will you make an impact? --

Perform complex inspection procedures on all types of machined components (small to large, mostly metallic, complex shapes) and assemblies to ensure quality levels are met at pre-ship and at the final stages of production.

What will you do? ---

  • Read and understand broad range of documents: mechanical drawings (GD&T standard), technical specifications, production traveler, testing forms and data

  • Experience working in ISO 9000, ISO 13485, ISO16949, or AS9100 systems is desired

  • Select adequate inspection tools (caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, radius gauges, surface profilometer, optical comparator, vision system, etc.), ensure proper functionality, use correct methods to complete inspection, and document results

  • When possible, voice cause and effect of defects, and refer findings to manufacturing facilitators for correction

  • Act as final checkpoint for all new and revise CMM programs

  • Train other employees in Quality Control processes and procedures

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

How will you get here?  -

Education: 

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent is required

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5+ years hands on experience in a relevant manufacturing environment

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years in GDT and Blueprint Reading

  • Knowledge and ability to program Zeiss Calypso CMM software is required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

  • Ability to run and program a CMM (Zeiss Calypso) and participate in program reviews and prove out efforts

  • Ability to understand CAD's and Solidworks

  • Proficient communication, reading, writing, and math skills

  • Ability to work closely with others in a fast – paced environment

  • Ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in semiconductor, medical device, or defense industry is desirable

  • Advance PC skills and experience in applicable software packages: MS Windows, MS Office, network file management

  • Zeiss Calypso Certification is highly recommended

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs., bending, and carrying equipment

Salary range: $28.00/ hour - $50.00/ hour

The hourly pay range for this role is $28.15 - $50.67. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, education (if requirement noted above), geographic location, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
