About You and this Role

As anHealth Services Specialist,you will provide expertise to ensure Dow Occupational Health (OH) Operating Disciplines are well implemented to meet both Government and Dow requirements. You will collaborate with the local OH team, leveraging subject matter expertise to improve or develop local work processes. Additionally, you will provide technical services and support duties to nursing, advance practitioners and physicians on site. You will be responsible to monitor and assess demand and activities of each clinic function and help adjust work/patient flow real time and on a proactive basis to create smooth, active clinic operability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and be accountable to providing site specific key performance indicators such (e.g. spirometry, audiometry, ECG, vision, laboratory, physical measurements) testing, biomonitoring, and vaccination according to established standards and procedures.

  • Participate in planning, organizing, and implementing an effective clinical workflow where applicable.

  • Provide drug and alcohol testing as required for pre-placement exams, Department of Transportation, site random, for-cause/reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return to work, and follow up substance testing and other situations according to established standards and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of testing, calibration and quality assurance procedures, specimens collected, analyzed and/or sent for laboratory analysis, test results, and communications to employees and others.

  • Perform basic administrative support as well as Front desk coordination when needed (manage patient flow across clinics)

  • Provide support to clinicians on a case-by-case basis to support case management, patient visit follow-up and patient care activities.

  • Maintain and order stock for the lab, management of lab data, scanning of medical information, and troubleshooting of testing equipment.

  • Scanning medical documents into the electronic medical record

  • Participate in planning, organizing, and implementing an effective clinical workflow where applicable.

  • Works effectively with a team to leverage experience to improve workflows and processes within the OH clinic.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED plus 2 or more years of formal training/working experience (e.g. medical assistant or medical technician) OR a minimum of an Associate Degree OR 3+ years of relevant military experience.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time to perform assigned duties (with or without reasonable accommodations).

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to recognize where assistance is needed in the OH team and willingness to take action to provide quality patient care.

  • You are a team player and can work effectively with the Occupational Health Manager.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with employees of all levels.

  • Troubleshooting, critical thinking and time management skills.

  • You are a self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks.
