Supervisor, Manufacturing Formulation

How will you make an impact?

The Manufacturing Supervisor for Formulations leads all aspects of operations with general responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, and cost daily, while directing a team of up to 15 employees made up of both Full Time Employees potentially Contractors.

A Day in the Life:

  • Communicate cross -functionally to ensure scheduled completion of daily work.

  • Partners with Planning/scheduling to plan weekly manufacturing schedule.

  • Handle shift-to-shift communications and reports shift metrics and issues to ensure smooth transition of work between shifts.

  • Maintains staffing plan and reviews team member performance.

  • Promote a safe and positive collaborative environment to achieve production goals and site metrics.

  • Capture and analyze production metrics. Identify trends. Collaboratively build a case for improvement.

  • Ensure employees are following company policies. Issue warnings and take corrective actions if/as needed.

  • Supervise and ensure compliance with ISO/GMP/FDA/class 7 and 8 requirements.

  • Maintain quality system by following SOP’s and work instructions.

  • Review and update manufacturing documents as needed (MBRs, SOPs, BOMs).

  • Promote Practical Process Improvement and achieve cost saving goals.

  • Open and lead problem reports/CAPA/Change Control as needed.

  • Participate in relevant cross-functional meetings i.e. Kaizen, PPI, safety, RCCM

  • Assign the daily work to ensure schedule completion while leading utilization and efficiency.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with 3 - 5 years of proven ability.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred.

  • Education and background in Chemistry or Biology highly preferred.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment or related fast paced, impactful environment where leadership is required.

  • Experienced people leader with 1-2 years of people leadership.

  • Experience preferred in one of the following: DNA/RNA isolation, library prep, library amplification, NGS processes or manufacturing of reagents.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proven record to follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet project timelines consistently and independently.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to support daily operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, and time management skills.

  • Shown ability to apply problem solving methodology to understand root cause and implement solutions.

  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed.

  • Other job duties as assigned.
