Discover Impactful Work: Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Training & Awareness Specialist to join our team in Frederick. As a member of the Corporate Infrastructure & Security (CIS) organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving cybersecurity awareness and training curriculum development initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Colleague Enablement, you will have the opportunity to conceptualize, craft, and implement strategic education and training initiatives to encourage a culture of technology and security awareness across our diverse, global workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored instructional strategies and training materials to address technology and security needs.

  • Collaborate with key customers to deliver role-based and multi-language training, including learning assessments and logistical rollout of programs.

  • Establish and track performance metrics to evaluate training efficiency and communicate successes and areas for improvement.

  • Conduct regular security awareness training sessions, workshops, and company-wide campaigns.

  • Expand the Cyber Awareness Ambassador program, increasing membership and creating strategies for information dissemination.

  • Aid in the development and implementation of a well-rounded program strategy to educate employees on information security guidelines.

  • Align training programs with CIS objectives, regional requirements, and emerging industry cybersecurity threats.

  • Provide project management support for awareness programs and initiatives.

  • Continuously improve program processes to optimize efficiency and streamline cross-functional processes.

  • Translate technical concepts into easily understandable content for non-technical audiences.

  • Collaborate closely with customers, instructional designers, and other professionals on projects.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field (equivalent experience will also be considered).

  • Proven experience in managing cybersecurity awareness and training programs.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in managing relationships and engaging with various individuals or groups.

  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills.

  • Analytical skills to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and technologies preferred.

  • Experience working in a global, multicultural environment helpful.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
