Job Summary:
The Production Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment to ensure the efficient production of high-quality fasteners. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment, including bolt / screws former, thread rollers, and optical inspection machines, to produce fasteners according to specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Report any major issues to the maintenance team.
- Quality Control: Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished fasteners to ensure they meet quality standards. Document and report any deviations or defects.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving production processes and efficiency. Implement approved changes and monitor their impact.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines. Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards. Participate in safety training and initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, production quantities, and quality control results.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions or process issues quickly to minimize production interruptions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other production team members, quality control, and maintenance personnel to achieve production goals and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience as a production technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the fastener industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in manufacturing technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions.
