JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will design, build, test, release, and support existing and new risk products. Develop solutions to meet business needs through collaboration with business and technical teams. Coordinate with enterprise architects and align solutions to meet architectural recommendations. Lead and drive design, development, and delivery of new features and products while maintaining and enhancing existing features and products. Mentor and provide technical expertise to team members. Conduct design reviews, code reviews, optimize code, and ensure code quality for applications developed by team members. Provide data for regulatory driven audits and for other business units. Follow Agile Scrum software development lifecycle within all initiatives and actively participate in scrum ceremonies, including product increment planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews and product demos. Engage with business clients and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables are on track and meet end user expectations. Prioritize backlog based on inputs from business, system architects, and other stakeholders while monitoring dependencies and breaking down complex work. Collaborate with release management and quality control management to ensure application software changes are thoroughly tested before they are released to production environment. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week. Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, engineering (computer, mechanical) or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation.
