Job Purpose:

The Machinist will provide high quality precision parts for Franklin Industries' Rolling Mill. Using equipment to accomplish goals with accuracy while also maintaining high levels of production rates.

The Machinist will be required to perform a variety of tasks to enhance and support the mill production functions of Franklin Industries.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and computer-aided design files to understand what needs made.
• Review and audit all procedures, policies, and work instructions for accuracy and proper ISO format
• Assist all managers with their machinery needs.
• Record, collect, and track data of all parts
• Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines.
• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Maintains inventory of completed projects.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols
• Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
• Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Internal ISO Auditor

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or higher education certificate
• Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
• Proficient in math
• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read blueprints
• General knowledge of roll and pass design
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Above average communication skills
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. i.e., word, excel, PowerPoint, and access.
• Intermediate/advanced computer skills to enter data into inventory system
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to multi-task and work with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work in a safe manner.
