Responsibilities

  • Ability to work 20 hours a week. Hours are flexible to accommodate student course schedule.

  • Promote a safe work environment that drives continuous improvement in all aspects of employee health and safety.

  • Take on EHS related projects or initiatives to drive continuous improvement within he facility.

  • Manage and process the EHS department inbox items.

  • Facilitate data input and management of the site’s EHS training database, which includes training sheet data input, creation of new employees, and running reports.

  • Upload or manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) through the site’s online tool, Cornerstone.

  • Update and keep current the site’s recycling and waste tracking reports.

  • Create and management EHS department purchase requisitions.

  • Process reimbursements for protective footwear and prescription eyeglass program.

  • Process Lockout/Tagout annual review forms

  • Process lock removal forms.

  • Process Non-routine Task Hazard Analysis (NRTHA) forms.

  • Review and ensure Hot Work Permits are fully completion and filed accordingly.

  • Process ISO documentation related to EHS.

  • Ensure EHS department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Form Control documents, Work Instructions, Lockout Procedures, and Risk Assessments are maintained

  • Process Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Start Safety Review (PSSR) forms.

  • Process, track and report out on Monthly E-Stop and Presence Sensing Device (PSD) inspection.

  • Process, track and report on Contractor Safety program documentation such as Contractor Orientation, Certificate of Insurance, and EHS evaluation forms.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an environmental, health & safety, manufacturing, or engineering college/university degree program.

  • Must be able to work 20 hours a week during working hours Monday-Friday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint applications.

  • Ability to learn company specific computer applications (i.e. CPro document control system, GDC EHS system, JDE purchase system, etc.).

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work.

  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, internship or co-op in related field
